"Squawk Box Europe" (since May 2011, billed on-screen as just Squawk Box) is a television business news programme on CNBC Europe, aired from 7-10am CET (6-9am WET) each weekday. It also airs on CNBC Asia between 2.30 p.m.-5.00 p.m. Hong Kong / Singapore time (1.30 p.m.-4.00 p.m. with DST), and in the United States on CNBC World at the respective time, 1:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m., ET. The programme is currently co-anchored by Geoff Cutmore, Steve Sedgwick and Karen Tso. Prior to June 2003, the programme ran for only two hours, between 7.00 to 9.00 UK time but later gained an hour from Today's Business.

Steve Sedgwick is an English financial journalist for CNBC Europe in London. He presents CNBC Europe's breakfast news programme Squawk Box Europe. He is also CNBC's OPEC reporter.

Squawk Box Europe - Biography - Netflix

Steve studied politics at the University of London. He also studied journalism at the National Council for Training Journalists. Steve was a trader in the financial markets for many years before becoming a journalist, initially for the UK Press Association on the City desk and at Dow Jones on the European Markets desk. He was also a contributor to the Wall Street Journal Europe. Before his career in journalism, Stephen spent 11 years trading in the financial markets, specialising in equity and bond market derivative products. In 1988, Stephen joined Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (formerly Kleinwort Benson Securities) and worked as an equity option marketmaker before moving on to Credit Lyonnais where he became Head of the London option market-making team on Liffe. Steve then joined CNBC Europe, initially presenting early morning programming, most recently Capital Connection before he became a co-presenter of Squawk Box Europe.
